Domestic Partnership or Marriage
They are a legal and administrative procedure by which two people form a stable partnership, based on the public and stable cohabitation between two people of the same or different sex with an interest in leading a family life together.
With regard to unmarried couples, there is currently no state law that regulates them, but some Autonomous Communities have drawn up specific laws for their territory.
To be a domestic partner, some of the requirements are that both partners are of legal age or emancipated minors, that neither is legally incapacitated or bound by a marriage bond (whether ecclesiastical or civil). It is also necessary that the couple are not directly related.
The unmarried couple is registered in a specific Registry of Unmarried Couples and a series of documents must be provided.
